Prachanda sworn in as Nepal’s first republican prime minister (Deutsche Welle) |
The leader of Nepal’s former Maoist rebels has been sworn in as prime minister. Prachanda is the first republican prime minister since the abolition of Nepal’s 240-year-old monarchy in May. He took the oath of office from President Ram Baran Yadav in Kathmandu on Monday.
